I don't know why the installer chose to install it like that, but- IF it can be put back where it always was (as stated above- on that same SE corner but bolted into the sidewalk parallel along the S.
All well and good- except for the fact that it was bolted into the sidewalk with only 3 bolts in 3 legs- the 4th leg is unbolted because it is resting over a city sewer cap! Now, I want to ad, that (and I hope this does NOT cause another removal!), that, instead of being bolted into the sidewalk parallel to the curb of S, Archer Avenue on that SE corner, the installer bolted itĪlongside the perpendicular walk of S.Keeler Ave. Keeler Avenue (where it had been for decades and decades- except for a removal a few years ago, which generated protests by the public, and so, was put back then until its removal about a week and a half ago).Īnd, I hope it has also been re-instated on the postal pick-up route as usual (because there IS mail in it). So, I am sending a THANK YOU now,įor bringing it back (to the SE corner of S. I messaged on this form last week about a missing mailbox (that was removed by USPS, I assume).
